Tribal DDB asked us to create and produce two mini documentaries for the new Philips Wake-up Light campaign. The idea was simple yet rich: find people who have serious morning issues, the grumpy people, zombies, grunts. Give them a Wake Up Light and film what effect the light has on how they wake up. A very cool idea with a bit of twist, because we where ofcourse risking that a light didnt have any effect. But the core of the idea was the challenge: can Philips make me a morning person? So no fake stories, no written scripts or concepted message but real people, real problems, real stories.
We asked Norwegian director Stian Smestad to direct the documentaries. Because we love his quirky and visual way of directing ofcourse. Add to that UK editor Adam Marshall and Norwegian composers Antigangsters Music and the result are two fun, entertaining, recognizable and we think sweet stories!
