Bio - Shueti
Shueti was born in The Netherlands and graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam in 2011. He is intrigued by the concept of inertia: the resistance of a physical object to any change in its state of motion. His favorite teaching is ‘you draw on your paintings, film as a photographer and photograph as a painter’.
Shueti was notably nominated for his short film at the Amstel Surf Film Festival and at the Dutch Festival NOFF. He also earned first place at the ART ON FOAM for Quicksilver, and won the Face-Off Video Festival in Los Angeles. In 2011 he directed a choreographed and very stylistic music video for the renowned electronic music producer Amon Tobin, which earned him substantial attention. Also he was asked by G-Star Raw to shoot their campaign commercial.
Through his films, Shueti seeks for depth in aesthetics and experiments with ‘new visuals’ as a part of his innovative style. He often challenges himself in searching for the extremes and demands the utmost of himself by working on the edge of possibilities. He is an artistic autonome who defines himself through his sophistication and audacity. Shueti dares himself to convert the wildest and most extreme ideas into outstanding films.
