Wouter and me just returned from hot Shanghai, where we met with local ad agencies, discussed a funky new event about video arts, interactive design, public space and advertising and partied along with the Shanghai Filmfestival. We met BB King Quincy Jones, shared bubbly wine with Clive Owen and a can full of Taiwanese actresses, we flipflopped for many miles, had the best food ever and Wouter had his arm inket by a local tattoo master. Yes, it was a blast… And I wanna go back…

Eind november hebben we de film Club Zeus van David Verbeek gedraaid in Shanghai. Tien dagen lang, een volledig Chinese crew. Een waanzinnige ervaring!
Verhaal: Club Zeus verkoopt dromen en hoop aan Chinese vrouwen. De hostboys van Club Zeus hebben zijn lief, interessant, mysterieus, geinteresseerd of een combinatie van dit alles, op commando. Het is in Club Zeus waar jone gvrouwen in de hypercity Shanghai zoeken naar aandacht, naar een sprankje liefde wellicht.

End of November we shot Club Zeus by Dutch director David Verbeek in Shanghai. Ten full days with a Chinese crew, some experience!
Story: Shanghai. Club Zeus sells dreams and hope to Chinese woman. Here it is where the hostboys have developed an almost perfectly smooth routine with women. They can be cute, interesting, mysterious, exited or heartbroken or mix all of the above together on demand. Here it is where young woman in the big city long for attention. Here it is where they might, lose their last remaining faith in love.
An urban story about social detachement and dependancy in a hyper-city.
